about

'Yes' is the latest song by San Fran and the Siscos.
www.facebook.com/SanFranandtheSiscos?ref=hl

It is based on the Matt McGinn classic 'Yes, Yes, UCS'. I have attempted to continue the tradition of using older Scottish folk tunes bringing them to the attention of a new audience.

'Yes' supports the Yes campaign in the forthcoming Scottish Independence Referendum on 18 September 2014.

Scotland has always been a nation consisting of many nationalities which make up the Scots. As an independent country we have a unique chance to start again and create a country that caters for its sick and poor and that encourages personal growth much better than it has been. No matter the ethnic origins of the people, collectively we are all Scots, always have been and always will be.

On 18 September 2014, vote YES.

lyrics

YES

Chorus

Yes, Yes, we say Yes
Tell them on the TV tell them on the press
I want my country I want no less
No more London doldrums

Mining born and mining bred
It kept us warm but now its dead
We turned our backs and they shot us in the head
Take these London doldrums

Don't leave us Scotland please say no
Davy Bowie tells us so
If we're a burden then let us go
Farewell to London doldrums

Chorus

36 papers on
The side of No and we've got one
Roll up your sleeves and get it done
Fight these London doldrums

Lord George Robertson has told
The world we're nasty, brash and bold
Forces of evil will unfold
Dark Star London doldrums

Chorus

For forty years the oil's been spent
On nuclear submarines and then
It's time to give them back and
Keep them in their London doldrums

Blame the refugees and poor
For all your troubles are you sure?
The bankers get scot-free, the same
Etonian London doldrums

Chorus

Take us forward lead the way
A new society can say
To the world we're here and here to stay
End these London doldrums

We come from England, Pakistan
Highlands. Lowlands and Iran
We all believe Yes, Yes we can
The work has just begun.
